✁3 trendy and easy DIYs✁
Hii everyone! Today I am doing to be teaching you my favorite DIYs such as beachy bead braids, Redbubble quality stickers of anything you want, and chunky, cozy blankets! These are all me approved and I have made them all MULTIPLE times and I love them. The supplies you need I'll link, but there aren't very many you need. So without farther ado, let's DIY!!
1. Beachy Hair Bead Braid
This is the tik tok trend that has been going around that I started doing and found the easiest way. It looks adorable and adds a summery vibe☀All you need is basically just beads. I know that people want to use small beads, but honey, those make the process so much longer and harder and tedious. Don't do it! It looks good with bigger beads!! I just had craft store beads at my house that I used so idk where you specifically can get beads. I have had lavender, light green, teal, and white bead sets (not at the same time lol) and you only need 5 beads per braid so for me I need 15 beads in total. HERE is a link to the right sized beads in cute colors, but you can just use any brand beads you want really!!
Here are the steps:
- Take a strand of hair that is pretty small many inches back from your face. I have made the mistake of making the strand too close to my face and it didn't really look good. Also only take hair from the top layer (if that makes sense) so there is hair under the braid. Pull the rest of your hair back into a bun or something.
- Soak the section of your hair thoroughly and then run a thin tooth comb through the hair and section it into three sections with one section smaller than the others.
- Start braiding for as long or short as you want but just know that it looks better if the amount of braiding in between beads is even.
- Then string a bead up the smallest strand of hair and push it as far as you can push it to the braid and then start to braid with the section you first cross going under the bead to keep it in place.
- Continue this whole process again and again until you reach the bottom of your hair and secure with a clear elastic.
TIPS:
- Wet your hair again if needed to help with getting your bead up your hair
- Practice practice practice!! It took me a couple tries to get it right and to learn especially the right distance apart from beads for you
- After taking out your beads it will be all frizzy so straighten it with a straightening iron. I mean that's kinda "duh" but I didn't know that for a sec
2. Redbubble Quality Stickers
These are probably my favorite DIYs ever!! I make these. All. The. Time! You can make a sticker of anything you can find on the internet, like ANYTHING. All you need is a device you can print off of and a printer. Also, things you probably already have like parchment paper and packing tape. There isn't anything I can link because most of these things are just basic.
Here are the steps:
- Lookup what you want to make a sticker of and print it out on any paper you have it doesn't really matter
- Cut out the design leaving a little white paper around the design
- Set that aside and put a strip of the packing tape on the parchment paper. Use enough so it covers the whole design/designs.
- Set your design(s) you cut out onto the taped part of the parchment paper and tape completely over the design once more
- Cut it out leaving a bit of room on the edges so there is a ring of parchment paper behind it
- The last step is to peel off the parchment paper from the back and stick it to anything you want! I keep mine on my hydro flask and computer. I have gotten a TON of compliments on them!!
TIPS:
- Look up "sticker packs printable" for a page of sticker designs so you get multiple designs on one page to print out
- When I print them out I screenshot my screen and crop it so it only shows the design I want and print that screenshot out.
- When you are cutting on either step 2 or 5, be really careful because these stickers can look DIYish if you have a bad edge around the sticker.
- Use matte tape on the second layer of tape to make your stickers matte but still strong.
3. Chunky and Cozy Blanket
This blanket is perfect for the winter with cocoa or the summer with a picnic! This is the perfect quarantine DIY because it takes a while to make but not too long as you will start giving up lol. It is very easy to fix if you make a mistake and basically you can't mess up! Just perfect for me and my love for soft things and prone to mistake self!! All you need is 4 balls of chunky, fluffy yarn which I'll link the one I got HERE.
I will include tips, but use these links for directions on what to do because it is complicated to write...
TIPS:
- If your loops start to unravel or there are holes, just repeat the process with the yarn below the hole working your way down to the bottom of the blanket
- DO NOT WASH IN THE WASHING MACHINE
- Start by doing a smaller blanket or patch instead of starting off so big
Alrighty! That's it! I hope, hope, hope you try at least ONE of these because they are all so easy and cute and you will 100% get compliments on it. And also I mean it's so much fun to make too! remember to follow and comment to see more of me! Bye bye xoxo
