☼my morning routine☼

Good morning or just hii!!  I was just thinking about what my ideal morning routine was and making a list of all the goals I have to reach that routine. However, as I am sitting here with a Starbucks in one hand, my computer in the other, and my head scrambled, I realized that I won't ever have that "ideal" morning routine! I can only work up to what works for me, not what works for anyone else. For example, I wanted to not use my phone for an hour when I first wake up, I wanted to meditate, I wanted to have a skincare routine, but just those things, it didn't work for me. If I do too much skincare I will break out, I like to check my phone because during quarantine that's the only way I can really stay with other people, and meditation makes me sleepy so doing it first thing in the morning, isn't the best plan. I wanted to wake up at 5 a.m., but I like to go to bed pretty late! And I know the things that are stopping me from these goals are probably things I can change, but uprooting your whole life so you can have this morning routine isn't practical! I mean, I'm going to work on using my phone last and going to bed earlier, but just going and doing a full 180, isn't something I can do. Anyway, enough of my blabber! SO, I was making a list (way to late last night) of what my morning REALLY looks like. It's not perfect and it's always changing, but it works for me and is something I can be consistent with. DO. NOT. TRY. TO. COPY. IT!!! Try somethings out though!! Alrighty, on to my morning;


8:40 I usually wake up! I set 3 or 4 alarms the night before for 8:30, 8:32, 8:35, and 8:39. I have learned that setting alarms leading up to one alarm that is a minute before I have to get up, helps me wake up. I am TRYING to not have to use that many alarms but I use each one to signal a different thing. The 1st is to wake up, the 2nd is to grab my phone, the 3rd is to be like "gEt rEaDy mIsSy" and the 4th is just like "SOME ON GET UP!!" I also have each of the alarm sounds different so the first is quiet little harps to the last one is super loud alarming noises! 

What helps me wake up are those alarms and natural light. I leave this super small window in my room open, so when I wake up, the room is brighter! It also reminds me that the sun is up and that the world is moving and that I should get going! I also always open up the two big windows in my room and turn off the fan first thing. 

Then I am on my phone for a bit and then head to the bathroom. I take out my rubber bands (I have braces) and brush my teeth. Brushing my teeth early wakes me up, and makes me feel less gross. I don't do any skincare as I previously said because my face doesn't really need that. 

Now it's like 9am and I might stretch a bit if I feel super tight then I get my workout clothes on! I love workout clothes for some reason!! I tend to wear short biker shorts and a sporty sports bra or my Nike shorts and a tank. I'll grab a little pre-breakfast which is usually some fruit and cheese, or a bar, or toast, or anything that we have like a bagel or a pastry. 

At 9:30 I aim to start my workouts, but it tends to be more around 9:45-10 that I actually start. I workout outside with a mat and a jug of ice water! I also bring my computer, phone, and AirPods. The workouts I do are the Pamela Reif 20 minute full-body workout and the Chloe Ting 10 minute flat stomach and abs. I will sometimes to a warm-up or cool down or stretch workout, but that's all the video workouts I do. That is like 30 minutes of straight burn and I am here for it!! I usually just mute the workout and play my own playlist (here) that hypes me up! 

After that I walk for like 30 minutes and drink water!!!! At like 11 I go and take a shower and sometimes wash my hair. Because I do this every day, I can't wash my hair every shower so I do it like every other. I use this shampoo that brightens your hair and then a color safe conditioner to keep my highlights lookn' great! 

The last thing I do in the morning is get ready for the day and get a snack. I usually curl my hair and put of glossier lip balm and I'm done!
