🕮3 of my FAV books with reviews and recaps🕮
Hi! What's up y'all? Today I will be sharing my top books. As a dyslexic who just HATES reading, I have found a couple gems in the rough that I have absolutely loved and 10000000% recommend. Like seriously, your girl loves these which is SO RARE. Let's get onto the list!!
Every Soul A Star
Okey, I got sucked into the book for days. I zoomed through it and I'm telling y'all IM NOT THAT KIND OF PERSON but for some reason I just loved it.
It is the story of 3 different people that all end up in the same place. They are all modern and have such different points of view. One is an aspiring model, one is a pudgy, insecure, socially challenged boy, and one is a girl that lives in the middle of nowhere that is pretty much away from the rest of the world socially, physically, and mentally. They all meet and in one way or another find each other and each grows themselves and learns so much when presented with their polar opposites. A great book that is super modern and perfect for teens or late tweens. It's powerful and still funny and relatable.
Perfect
This book took us through every stage of an eating disorder through the eyes of a 13-year-old girl. It is powerful and shifts your view on eating disorders, however, is relatable and sweet and humorous. I enjoyed this book so much I have read it multiple times and suggested it to my friends who have all loved it.
Basically, this girl has an eating disorder and her family forces her to go to a therapy session for it. There, she meets the coolest girl in school who she would never think in 1000 years would have problems like hers. They begin a friendship, however bond over throwing up together. The journey has so many parts to it yet still is light and airy storytelling.
Out Of My Mind
I absolutely cannot explain how this book has affected me. It is such a funny and sweet book that is basic except for one thing; the main character is disabled. The whole book is through her eyes and what it's like and how people look at you or how normal situations have to be approached differently.
It follows a girl through middle school with major disabilities from her point of view through her days. It changes the way you look at everything. She is in the "special ed" room for years and has funny stories about all the teachers and students there. She is in combined classes and goes through bullying and embarrassment. She becomes friends with a somewhat popular girl that shifts her whole world. And during this is just doing normal life things that are already hard! She works hard to improve her situation and works her way to the top. However, still she is looked at is a helpless child that has no thoughts or feelings and can not understand things around her.
This book is great for literally everyone and I can't suggest it more to you!!!
I might make a part 2 to this post if y'all like it! remember to follow and comment to see more of me! Stay safe and confident and happy!! Xoxoxo
